Muskogee, OK – A Seminole resident has been sentenced to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty to a federal firearm charge.
John Arthur Dennis, 24, of Seminole, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment for illegal possession of two firearms.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department; and the Ardmore Police Department.
On November 2, 2023, Dennis pleaded guilty to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm. According to investigators, on November 14, 2021, Dennis knowingly possessed two firearms after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the sentencing hearing.
Dennis will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
