Jose Armando Delgado Martinez, Fentanyl Distribution, Florida 2021

A notorious fentanyl dealer has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in a massive conspiracy to distribute fentanyl-laced heroin in Orlando, Florida.

Jose Armando Delgado Martinez, 35, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Paul G. Byron on November 9, 2021, for his involvement in a plot to distribute over a kilogram of fentanyl and fentanyl-laced heroin to a DEA cooperating source and undercover officers on 15 occasions.

According to court documents, Delgado-Martinez, along with his codefendants Bolivar Anibal Cordova Jr. and Luis Manuel Cordero, worked together to distribute fentanyl-laced heroin to law enforcement officials between August 2019 and April 2021.

The conspirators also maintained a storage locker that contained more than 611 grams of pure fentanyl, which was seized by federal agents.

In addition to the drugs, the conspirators produced rap videos depicting drug dealing and guns along with the torture, mutilation, and murder of government informants.

Delgado-Martinez’s sentence was enhanced as a result of his effort to bribe Cordova into falsely testifying in the case.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol and the Winter Park Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Dana E. Hill.

The sentences for the other codefendants in this case were also handed down earlier this month. Bolivar Anibal Cordova Jr. was sentenced to 12 years and 7 months in federal prison, while Luis Manuel Cordero received a sentence of 8 years and 6 months in federal prison.

Delgado-Martinez’s sentence of 14 years in federal prison is the latest blow to the fentanyl trade in Florida, highlighting the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to disrupt and dismantle these operations.
