On February 9, 2011, the PAED Federal District Court in Pennsylvania began hearing the case of Joseph E. Thompson, a 35-year-old defendant accused of violent crimes.
Thompson, a resident of Philadelphia, was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit violent crimes, two counts of violent crime in aid of racketeering, and one count of violent crime resulting in death.
On March 10, 2012, after a four-week trial, the jury delivered a guilty verdict on all counts.
Joseph E. Thompson was sentenced to 35 years in prison for his role in the violent crimes.
