A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 41 years in federal prison for robbing two banks in the city.
45-year-old Joseph Krist was sentenced to 240 months in federal prison for the robbery of the Lone Star National Bank on November 23, 2012, and 262 months in federal prison for the robbery of the Lone Star Capital Bank on January 7, 2013.
The sentences will run consecutive to each other and to a 30-year federal prison sentence Krist is currently serving for robbing a Corpus Christi bank in 2013.
According to authorities, Krist stole approximately $9,645 from the Lone Star National Bank and approximately $8,188 from the Lone Star Capital Bank. During the Lone Star Capital Bank robbery, Krist used a firearm to assault a bank employee.
United States District Judge Fred Biery found Krist to be a danger to the community and a violent individual.
Krist was also ordered to pay a combined $17,833 restitution for the two robberies.
The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Bettina Richardson and Charlie Strauss.
