Newport News, Va. – Justin Brown, 25, of Newport News, has been slammed with a 288-month sentence for his role in the Black P-Stones gang’s sinister activities. The grim tally includes involvement in drug distribution, multiple robberies, and the cold-blooded murder of at least three individuals.
Brown, who pleaded guilty on December 16, 2015, participated in a chilling scheme that led to the demise of a local marijuana dealer. According to court documents, Brown drove several gang members to the dealer’s home with the intent of robbing him. What followed was a botched heist that ended with murder and a getaway plan executed by Brown.
After the crime scene, Brown orchestrated the escape, ensuring the division of stolen goods among his crew. Dana J. Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Martin Culbreth, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office, broke the news following sentencing by U.S. District Judge Arenda Wright-Allen.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric M. Hurt and Trial Attorney Marianne Shelvey from the Justice Department’s Organized Crime and Gang Section were instrumental in bringing Brown to justice.
