Kamron Kallestewa, Armed Assault, New Mexico 2023

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – In a shocking case of violence, two Zuni men were sentenced to 33 months in prison each for a brutal armed assault involving four victims.

The victims of this heinous crime were assaulted at a residence on the Zuni Pueblo using firearms. The attackers, identified as Kamron Kallestewa, 25 and Kaden Panteah, 20, both enrolled members of the Zuni Pueblo, unleashed a terrifying ordeal on the unsuspecting individuals on April 8, 2023.

According to court documents, Kallestewa hit two victims in the head and face with his weapon and pointed it at two of the victims, while Panteah aimed and fired his weapon toward the victims.

The Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, in collaboration with the Zuni Police Department, investigated this case with remarkable efficiency. Assistant United States Attorney Jesse Pecoraro is prosecuting the case.

Upon their release from prison, Kallestewa will be subject to two years of supervised release, while Panteah will be subject to three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
