Katelyn Marie Hall, Straw Purchasing Firearms, Pennsylvania 2018

ERIE, Pa. – In a shocking case of firearms law breaking, a Corry, Pennsylvania woman has been charged with violating federal straw purchase laws and acquiring firearms for another individual who was prohibited from possessing firearms.

According to the indictment, Katelyn Marie Hall, 26 violated federal law on March 31, 2018 by purchasing firearms on behalf of someone else.

Hall’s actions are punishable under federal law, which provides for a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. The actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

Hall’s indictment is an accusation, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
