Lebanon Sex Offender Charged with Child Pornography in Missouri

A registered sex offender in Lebanon, Missouri, has been indicted for receiving and distributing child pornography over the Internet, according to federal authorities.

Kavin Dywayne Finley, 43, of Lebanon, was charged in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Springfield, Missouri, on April 2, 2015. Finley is registered with the Missouri Sex Offender Registry due to his 1999 conviction for child molestation in Arizona.

The indictment alleges that Finley received and distributed child pornography over the Internet from April 2 to May 12, 2015.

U.S. Attorney Tammy Dickinson cautioned that the charge contained in the indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ami Harshad Miller. It was investigated by the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team and the FBI.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
