Kayla Jenschke, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, Rapid City SD 2026

A federal judge has sentenced a Box Elder woman to over 11 years in federal prison for her role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy in Rapid City, South Dakota.

United States Attorney Ron Parsons announced that District Judge Camela C. Theeler has sentenced Kayla Jenschke, 31, of Box Elder, South Dakota, for her conviction of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance.

The sentencing took place on March 30, 2026, following Jenschke’s guilty plea to the charge. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the investigation revealed that Jenschke and others were involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Rapid City and surrounding areas.

As part of her sentence, Jenschke was ordered to serve 136 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The U.S. Attorney’s Office also announced that Jenschke will be required to pay a $100 special assessment as part of her sentence.

The investigation into the methamphetamine distribution conspiracy was conducted by the Rapid City Office of the FBI, with assistance from the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tobi Schowing.
