Keana M. Davis, 33, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been indicted on six counts related to cocaine trafficking and distribution in a case that has been ongoing since April 2013.
According to the indictment, Davis is accused of conspiring to distribute and distributing cocaine and cocaine base, commonly known as ‘crack,’ between April 15, 2013, and June 27, 2013. She is also charged with distributing cocaine base on April 24, 2013, and May 28, 2013. Additionally, Davis is accused of being involved in a scheme to profit from maintaining a drug-involved premises between April 15, 2013, and June 27, 2013.
The charges were filed as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force and the Fort Wayne Police Department. The indictment also seeks the forfeiture of any property derived from the commission of these charges.
This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller. If convicted, Davis faces a range of penalties, including fines and imprisonment. The United States Attorney’s Office emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
The indictment also includes charges against Amanda McBride, 30, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who was allegedly involved in the scheme with Davis. McBride is charged with profiting from maintaining a drug-involved premises between April 15, 2013, and June 27, 2013.
The case is a result of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, the Fort Wayne Police Department, and other agencies. The United States Attorney’s Office has emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their role in the drug trade and the devastating impact it has on communities.
