Keenan Williams and Reginald Brown, members of the notorious S.C.O. gang, were sentenced in federal court for their roles in narcotics trafficking in Western Pennsylvania.
Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab handed down the sentences in federal court, sentencing Keenan Williams, 22, of Duquesne, PA, to 4 years in prison and 6 years of supervised release. Reginald Brown, 29, of East Pittsburgh, PA, received a 6-year prison sentence and 4 years of supervised release.
According to court documents, the FBI Greater Pittsburgh Safe Streets Task Force conducted a long-term investigation into the S.C.O. gang’s activities, identifying Williams and Brown as key players in the organization’s narcotics trafficking operations.
Intercepted communications revealed that Williams served as a drug runner for his half-brother, Richard Coto-Wheat, distributing controlled substances in the North Versailles and Braddock neighborhoods. Brown, a self-admitted member of the S.C.O. gang, was found to be conspiring with others to possess and distribute cocaine base, commonly known as crack.
Additionally, law enforcement seized a Ruger 9mm pistol, $5,490 in cash, and other items indicative of drug-trafficking from Brown’s residence, which he was required to forfeit as part of his sentence.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, commending the multi-agency team led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their work in bringing the case to trial.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
This case is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force program, a nationwide initiative aimed at disrupting and dismantling major drug trafficking organizations.
