An Atlantic City man has been charged with receiving images of child sexual abuse, according to federal authorities.
Keith M. Clack, 41, is charged by complaint with knowingly receiving images of child pornography, Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick announced.
Clack appeared in federal court today in Camden, New Jersey, and was detained.
According to the documents filed in this case and statements made in court, law enforcement officers conducted an undercover operation in May 2017, which led to the detection of electronic devices belonging to Clack accessing and downloading over 3,500 images of child pornography.
The images included depictions of infants and toddlers being sexually abused and child erotica.
Clack has a prior conviction for sexual assault on a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor, which increases his potential sentence to a 15-year mandatory minimum term of imprisonment and a maximum of 40 years in prison.
He also faces additional penalties upon conviction, including a fine of $250,000 or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense, and a term of supervised release of at least five years and up to life.
