Boise, Idaho – In a shocking turn of events, Kenneth Frank Morehouse, 59, a former CEO of Intermountain Gas, was sentenced to 21 months in prison for unlawfully possessing a firearm.
The incident occurred on February 2017, when Ada County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Morehouse’s residence after his wife reported fearing he was suicidal. A deputy encountered Morehouse holding a firearm and shot him to temporarily disable him due to safety concerns.
Morehouse was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a 2015 conviction in Ada County District Court for a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, which was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2001 to combat gun violence in the United States.

Morehouse pleaded guilty to the charges on June 21, 2017. He was also ordered to pay a $5,500 fine and serve three years of supervised release after his period of incarceration.
