A Fairfield man has been sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison for two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Kenny Losito, 31, was sentenced on Monday for the charges, announced U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott.
Losito was arrested by the Vacaville Police Department on March 14, 2019 following a traffic stop. Officers found a loaded 9 mm handgun under Losito’s seat that officers later determined had been reported stolen in Nevada.
After being released on bail, Losito was again arrested by the Vacaville Police Department on April 19, 2019, following a traffic stop, and was found with a loaded Tanfoglio GT32 firearm under his seat.
Losito has several prior felony convictions that prohibit him from possessing firearms.
This case was the product of an investigation by the Vacaville Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Colleen Kennedy prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. The case is also part of Project Guardian, the Department of Justice’s signature initiative to reduce gun violence and enforce federal firearms laws.
