Kerin Orellana-Serrano, Illegal Reentry, Florida 2025

OCALA, FL – In a shocking turn of events, Kerin Orellana-Serrano, a 30-year-old Mexican national, has been arrested and charged with illegal reentry by a previously deported alien. This is not Orellana-Serrano’s first run-in with the law, as he has been removed from the United States four times before.

According to a complaint filed by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg, Orellana-Serrano was arrested in Marion County on February 14, 2025, on state charges for domestic violence battery and providing false identification to law enforcement. It was during this arrest that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents confirmed Orellana-Serrano’s citizenship and discovered his history of removals.

Records show that Orellana-Serrano was previously removed from the United States on September 14, 2018, September 19, 2018, October 25, 2018, and February 8, 2024. This raises serious questions about how Orellana-Serrano was able to re-enter the country without proper authorization.

Orellana-Serrano’s history of removals is not the only red flag in this case. He was previously convicted of illegal reentry by a previously deported alien in January 2024 in the Middle District of Florida. This conviction carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison, and Orellana-Serrano is facing the same charges now.

The investigation into Orellana-Serrano’s activities was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg.
