MEMPHIS, TN – Four correctional officers in Tennessee have been indicted for introducing or possessing drugs in prison, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant.
The indictment alleges that Kiara Bogan, a 27-year-old correctional officer from Hickman, Kentucky, distributed marijuana on February 20, 2018.
Michael Holland, a 20-year-old correctional officer from Union City, Tennessee, was indicted for two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Darreia Johnson, a 21-year-old correctional officer from Hickman, Kentucky, was also indicted for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Robert Sanders, a 41-year-old correctional officer from Newbern, Tennessee, was indicted for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Tarnished Badge Task Force, seized 13 ounces of marijuana and 51 grams of cocaine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Dean DeCandia is prosecuting the cases.
Defendants Bogan, Holland, and Johnson each face up to 5 years imprisonment if convicted. Defendant Sanders faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
