Andrew Miles Devos, Meth Trafficking, Oregon 2020

A Klamath Falls man with a long history of drug and firearm convictions has been locked up for his latest crime: trafficking methamphetamine.

Andrew Miles Devos, 42, of Klamath Falls, Oregon, was sentenced to 75 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Law enforcement had been watching Devos, who at the time had eight prior felony convictions for drug and firearm offenses, as he sold methamphetamine in Klamath Falls. On January 8, 2020, officers arrested Devos when he arrived to complete a drug transaction.

During the search of his vehicle, officers found 80 grams of methamphetamine, a 9mm handgun, 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a digital scale, and packaging materials hidden in a backpack.

Devos was initially charged with illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Those charges were later reduced to a single count of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute after Devos pleaded guilty to the superseding charge.

The investigation was led by the Basin Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET) with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The case was prosecuted by John C. Brassell, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon.

Devos’ history of convictions and his involvement in the latest crime make it clear that he is a menace to the community. His lengthy prison sentence is a necessary step in keeping our streets safe.
