Kristen L. McIntyre, 37, a former trucking company employee under contract with the U.S. Postal Service, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for stealing mail.
According to the indictment, McIntyre worked as a highway contract route driver between Aug. 18 and Sept. 15, 2016, transporting mail to and from post offices in Trenton, Spickard, Princeton and Mercer, Mo., to the Chillicothe, Mo., post office.
The indictment alleges that McIntyre stole mail, including money and gift cards, during her employment with the trucking company.
U.S. Attorney Tammy Dickinson cautioned that the charge contained in the indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rudolph R. Rhodes, IV. It was investigated by the U.S. Postal Service – Office of Inspector General.
The indictment marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts to combat mail theft and protect the public’s trust in the U.S. Postal Service.
Kristen L. McIntyre is scheduled to appear in court to face the charges against her. The public will be kept informed of any developments in this case.
