Kristian Ramos, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Florida 2023

Kristian Ramos, a 44-year-old Kissimmee man with a history of crime, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for violating federal law by possessing a firearm. On May 23, 2023, Ramos was found in possession of a Beretta Nano 9mm handgun, which is a serious offense considering his prior felony convictions.

Ramos had previously been convicted of robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and robbery, making him ineligible to possess a firearm under federal law. This severe restriction is in place to prevent convicted felons from further endangering society with firearms.

According to the court documents, Ramos entered a guilty plea on February 27, 2024, acknowledging his guilt in the matter. U.S. District Judge Paul G. Byron handed down the six-year sentence, also ordering Ramos to forfeit the Beretta Nano 9mm handgun involved in the offense.

The investigation into Ramos’ activities was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, alongside the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Noah P. Dorman prosecuted the case.

The case was part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities by collaborating with law enforcement and local organizations. The program focuses on fostering trust, supporting community-based initiatives, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring results.
