Methamphetamine Distribution Kingpin Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – In a major blow to the narcotics trade, Lauren Roosa, 39, was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison for her role in a high-profile methamphetamine distribution ring in Central New York.

According to court documents, Roosa conspired with others to distribute the highly addictive and deadly substance in Onondaga County and surrounding areas. The illicit operation was reportedly fueled by shipments of methamphetamine transported from California.

As part of her guilty plea, Roosa admitted to receiving large quantities of methamphetamine at her residence in Clay, New York, via commercial delivery services. One of these shipments contained a staggering 879 grams of pure methamphetamine – a significant amount that can harm countless individuals.

The investigation, led by the DEA, IRS-CI, and other local authorities, uncovered a web of deceit and corruption that led to the seizure of $22,010 in cash and 405 grams of pure methamphetamine stored at a small convenience store in Syracuse.

U.S. District Judge David N. Hurd handed down the sentence, ordering Roosa to serve a 3-year term of supervised release upon her release from prison. The forfeiture of $22,010 seized currency is also a part of her punishment.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of methamphetamine on our communities. As we continue to battle the scourge of addiction, it’s essential that those responsible for perpetuating this crisis face the full force of the law.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew J. McCrobie is leading the prosecution, with the support of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the DEA, IRS-CI, and local police departments.

Lauren Roosa’s sentencing is a significant victory for law enforcement and a testament to their dedication to keeping our communities safe.
