Lima Thugs Nabbed for Robbing Postal Worker

In a brazen attack, Amihr Curtis, 23, Zenesto Martin, Jr., 25, and Christian Proby, 25, all of Lima, Ohio, allegedly robbed a United States Postal Service letter carrier in November 2023 while on a delivery route in Lima, Ohio.

A federal grand jury has returned a three-count indictment charging the trio with interference of commerce by robbery, robbery of mail, money, or other property of the United States, and stealing keys used by the Postal Service for the deposit of mail.

Curtis and Martin, Jr., were also indicted for one count of mail theft.

The investigation preceding the indictment was a collaborative effort conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Lima Police Department.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank H. Spryszak.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

According to the indictment, the alleged crimes took place in November 2023. If convicted, the defendants’ sentence will be determined by the Court after review of factors unique to this case, including the prior criminal record, if any, the defendants’ role in the offenses, and the characteristics of the violation.

In all cases, the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in most cases, it will be less than the maximum.

Sentencing for all three defendants is scheduled for June 20, 2025.
