Lone Grove Man Sentenced for Gun Crime
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Danny Ray Gordon, III, a 33-year-old resident of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Gordon’s guilty plea comes after an indictment was filed on March 13, 2024, charging him with one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
At the plea hearing, Gordon admitted to possessing a Colt, Model 1903, .32ACP caliber, semi-automatic pistol, and several rounds of ammunition on December 16, 2024. He also admitted that at the time of the offense, he knew he had been previously convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.
The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. Gordon will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.
