Muskegon, Oklahoma – In a gritty turn of events, JERRY WAYNE MORRISON, JR., also known as Hootie, has stood before the court in Muskogee, Oklahoma, admitting to a serious charge. The 34-year-old Lost City native faces the possibility of spending up to ten years behind bars after pleading guilty to being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
The charges stem from a 2012 investigation by the District 27 Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Morrison was indicted in November 2013, and the allegations hold that he possessed a Taurus model PT709 Slim, 9mm caliber pistol, which had traversed state lines.
Jerry Wayne Morrison Jr.’s guilty plea was accepted by Magistrate Judge Steven P. Shreder of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma in Muskogee. A presentence report is now being prepared, and sentencing will follow its completion.
The severity of Morrison’s crime dictates that he could face no more than 10 years imprisonment or a fine of up to $250,000. As of now, he remains in the custody of the United States Marshal Service, pending his sentencing hearing.
