The indictment, filed on August 29, 2017, charged Smith with one count of conspiracy to commit violent crime, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 371, and one count of violent crime in aid of racketeering, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1959(a)(3).

According to court documents, Smith was allegedly involved in a violent crime spree that spanned several months, during which time he and his co-conspirators engaged in a series of brutal attacks on rival gang members and innocent bystanders.

The case was brought to light after a lengthy investigation by the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office, which uncovered a web of evidence linking Smith and his co-conspirators to the violent crimes.
