Double Homicide Rocks Small Texas Town
Lufkin, Texas, resident Carl Carver, 44, pleaded guilty to charges related to the 2007 double homicide of David Mitchamore and Christie Rochelle Brown in Nacogdoches, Texas.
On August 10, 2007, the bodies of Mitchamore, aka “Super Dave,” an Aryan Brotherhood of Texas (ABT) member, and his girlfriend Brown were discovered in Nacogdoches County. According to court documents, Carver, a general of the ABT, had issued a “direct order” for Mitchamore’s murder due to an outstanding debt.
As a high-ranking member of the ABT, Carver admitted to participating in the murder and acknowledged the gang’s violent tactics, which include murder, assault, and robbery. Members of the ABT are required to follow orders, often referred to as “direct orders,” from higher-ranking members.
The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and other law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation. The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Lufkin and the Criminal Division’s Gang Unit.
Carver faces life in prison at sentencing, which has yet to be scheduled. The case serves as a reminder of the violent nature of organized crime groups like the ABT.
Carver’s guilty plea is a significant blow to the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, which has been involved in numerous violent crimes throughout the state and the United States.
The case highlights the need for continued efforts to combat organized crime and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
