BOSTON – In a shocking turn of events, Luis Jose Mejia Arias, a 24-year-old Dominican national, pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in federal court in Boston. Mejia Arias’s guilty plea marks a significant blow to the local narcotics trade.
According to authorities, Mejia Arias was found guilty of eight counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl. Between September 2015 and May 2016, Mejia Arias allegedly distributed these illicit substances to an undercover officer in Waltham on multiple occasions.
