Madison Man Indicted for Meth Distribution, Gun Possession

MADISON, WIS. – In a stunning turn of events, Gairitt Schad, 27, from Madison, Wisconsin, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on serious drug and firearm charges. According to the latest report from the DOJ USAO in Wisconsin, Schad stands accused of possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin. The indictment further alleges that he possessed a loaded handgun during drug trafficking activities, as well as a Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Shield .40 caliber handgun, in violation of his felon status.

The severity of the charges is underscored by potential penalties ranging from five years to life imprisonment. For example, if convicted of possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, Schad faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of forty years in prison. The charge for distributing cocaine and heroin carries a maximum penalty of twenty years, while the firearm-related charges carry even stiffer sentences.

Jason Bloedow, 41, from Eau Claire, has been charged with distributing methamphetamine, possessing large quantities of the substance for distribution, and maintaining a drug-involved premise. Bloedow faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years for the charge involving 500 grams or more of meth and a potential life sentence if convicted of the most serious charges.

Additionally, Noah A. Hodges, 43, from Madison, is charged with possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. His case, which also involves investigations by several federal agencies and local law enforcement, carries penalties ranging from five years to forty years in prison if he is found guilty.

These recent cases highlight the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Wisconsin, as well as the collaborative efforts between federal and local law enforcement agencies in tackling such serious crimes.
