Anthony Redd, Mail Fraud and Money Laundering, Pennsylvania 2023

Lehigh County, PA – A 65-year-old Fullerton resident has been slapped with a 58-month prison sentence for his role in a complex mail fraud and money laundering scheme that left at least 29 victims in its wake. Anthony Redd, 65, was handed down the sentence by U.S. District Judge Sylvia H. Rambo on August 5, 2021, to be followed by three years of supervised release. The court also ordered Redd to pay restitution to the victims to the tune of $240,133.

According to Acting United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Redd was part of a brazen criminal conspiracy that saw him and his co-conspirators swindle money from unsuspecting victims through fake misrepresentations. The ill-gotten gains were then funneled to accomplices in Jamaica, Costa Rica, and across the United States.

Redd, a mastermind of sorts, allegedly recruited other individuals to join the scheme, which was uncovered by the United States Postal Inspection Service – Harrisburg Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian T. Haugsby served as the prosecutor on the case.

The scope of the scheme was staggering, leaving a trail of financial devastation in its wake. Redd’s crimes have left many to wonder how he managed to evade detection for so long. However, the law eventually caught up with the 65-year-old, and now he’ll be paying the price for his actions.
