Major Methamphetamine Ring Nabs Eleven in ‘Battle of Honey Springs’

Eleven individuals have been arraigned in the federal investigation code-named ‘Operation Battle of Honey Springs,’ marking a significant blow to methamphetamine distribution across Oklahoma.

The suspects, including Michael A. Metzker, also known as ‘Lurch,’ face charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute at least 500 grams of methamphetamine. The charges were brought forth by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Michael A. Metzker, an ex-member of the Universal Aryan Brotherhood, was previously incarcerated for drug-related offenses. He is accused of using his cell phone to facilitate drug deals while behind bars and continuing his criminal activities upon release. His coconspirators include Michael W. Metzker (‘Chic’), Lacey Renee Park, Derek Park, Margaret Casey, Shawna Vanzant, Jackie Dale Brumley, Cornell Tyleiz Harvey, Scott Wesley Duncan, Sunny Ann Martinek, and Steven D. Carr.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between numerous local law enforcement agencies and federal agencies like the DEA, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and United States Marshal Service. It was orchestrated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) of the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Judge Steven P. Shreder presided over the arraignments in Muskogee. The suspects now face a minimum sentence of 10 years and could be sentenced to life imprisonment without parole, depending on the outcome of their trial.
