A man has been charged and arrested in connection with a 1987 cold case homicide in Flagstaff, Arizona.
According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Lee Thurman was arrested on March 29, 2024 and charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the death of Debra Endecott, a 25-year-old woman who was found dead in a Flagstaff residence on October 12, 1987.
The investigation into Endecott’s death was reopened in 2023 after new evidence was discovered, and Thurman was identified as a suspect.
The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office credits advances in forensic technology and the efforts of cold case detectives for the breakthrough in the case.
Thurman is being held at the Coconino County Detention Facility on a $1 million bond.
