MANHATTAN – Adam Sloan, a street operator known as “Slug,” is facing a federal indictment for supplying the fentanyl that killed a New York City man on July 15, 2025. Federal prosecutors unsealed the charges today, alleging Sloan distributed the lethal dose.
The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, died from an overdose, and investigators quickly zeroed in on Sloan as the source. The indictment, handed down in the Southern District of New York, alleges Sloan knowingly peddled the deadly drug.
“This isn’t about possession; it’s about a dealer pushing poison that directly caused a death,” a source close to the investigation told Grimy Times. “Fentanyl’s killing folks at a terrifying rate, and we’re going after the guys making the profit.”
US Attorney Jay Clayton vowed to “fight for these victims and hold killers accountable.” DEA and NYPD officials echoed that sentiment, highlighting the ongoing crisis of fentanyl poisoning gripping the city. The case is assigned to Judge Lewis A. Kaplan.
