Marion County Narc Dealer Gets 15-Year Fed Sentence

PORTLAND, Ore. – A ruthless Marion County, Oregon drug dealer, Mark William Osburn, 39, faced the federal bench today after being caught with a cache of deadly drugs and a firearm. U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams revealed that Osburn was sentenced to 180 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.

On September 23, 2018, Oregon State Troopers pulled over Osburn following traffic violations. They discovered he was driving under a false identity, and his car held ten fentanyl pills, 74 grams of meth, and a pistol. A month later, Salem Police executed a search warrant on a motel room where Osburn was peddling poison. They seized meth, cocaine, heroin, multiple guns, cash, and counterfeit IDs.

Osburn’s confessions painted a picture of a man in the throes of addiction, selling up to a kilogram of meth in one day. His criminal history includes six prior state convictions for delivering methamphetamine. On February 8, 2020, Osburn pleaded guilty to distribution and firearm charges.

This case was the result of a joint investigation by the ATF, Oregon State Police, and Salem Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Y. Sussman prosecuted the case under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through partnerships with local prevention programs.

PSN targets the most violent offenders in the community, aiming to make lasting reductions in crime. Through this strategy, Osburn’s sentencing sends a clear message that the federal government will not tolerate those who threaten public safety with drugs and guns.
