Hanover Man Charged with Hobbs Act Robberies
HARRISBURG, PA – A Hanover man has been charged with Hobbs Act Robberies after allegedly robbing or attempting to rob five different businesses in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Mark S. Herrick, 47, allegedly committed the crimes between October 24, 2023, and October 29, 2023, using a knife. The five businesses affected stretched across three counties in the Middle District.
According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the indictment alleges that Herrick robbed or attempted to rob the businesses in a brazen display of violence.
The investigation into Herrick’s crimes was a joint effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pennsylvania State Police, and local police departments in Palmyra, Swatara, and Lower Allen.
Assistant United States Attorney Stephen Dukes is prosecuting the case against Herrick, who faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a three-year term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
It is essential to note that an indictment is only an allegation, and all individuals charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
