Mexican national Marcos Martinez-Jimenez, 42, has been sentenced to 25 months’ imprisonment for illegally reentering the United States after being deported following a conviction for an aggravated felony.
According to court documents, Martinez-Jimenez pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry after deportation for an aggravated felony and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Greg Kays on September 17, 2025.
Martinez-Jimenez was arrested on February 11, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, by Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Enforcement & Removal Operations following a vehicle stop. He was previously convicted of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child Under 14 in Johnson County, Kansas in 2007.
In the 2007 case, Martinez-Jimenez was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 61 months’ and upon completion of that sentence he was deported to Mexico in 2011. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect communities from individuals who have committed serious crimes.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brent Venneman and was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), Chicago Field Office, Kansas City Sub-Office.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
