Two Florida men have admitted to producing and distributing vile child pornography, exploiting children under the age of ten through encrypted online networks. Michael J. McClure, 44, of DeFuniak Springs, and Jeffrey W. Boone, Jr., 32, of Shalimar, pled guilty this week to federal charges tied to the graphic sexual abuse of minors—crimes uncovered through relentless digital surveillance by FBI undercover agents.
McClure’s indictment stems from a disturbing online enterprise operated through Kik Messenger, where he not only shared but actively produced child pornography between 2020 and 2021. During his guilty plea, he admitted to coordinating with a network of predators across the country, forming a child exploitation ring designed to abuse and trade images of multiple underage victims. The child he personally victimized was less than ten years old.
Jeffrey W. Boone, Jr., committed an equally heinous offense—creating and streaming child pornography in real time over the same platform. FBI agents identified Boone quickly after detecting active abuse online and executed a search warrant at his Shalimar residence to halt the ongoing exploitation. His victim, too, was under ten years of age, and the abuse occurred in 2021.
“There is no greater charge than the protection of our children,” said Jason R. Coody, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. “Acts of such depravity are horrific and will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted.” He credited swift collaboration between federal and local law enforcement for rescuing the victims.
Rachel L. Rojas, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Jacksonville Division, emphasized the bureau’s unwavering mission: “These cases represent the FBI’s relentless pursuit of those who seek to exploit the most innocent members of our community. Together with our law enforcement partners, we will never waver in our efforts to protect our children from harm.”
McClure now faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison, with the possibility of life behind bars. Boone faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years, up to 30 years. Both are scheduled for sentencing in January 2022. The investigations were led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys David L. Goldberg, Jennifer H. Callahan, and Amanda Gordon.
