Denver – In a stunning verdict from the District of Colorado, Nathan James Meek of Colorado Springs has been found guilty on multiple counts, including drug trafficking conspiracy and possession of firearms. The jury delivered its decision after a trial that revealed Meek’s involvement in selling massive quantities of illegal substances across the region.
Meek faced charges for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, as well as possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. He was also charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
The evidence against Meek was overwhelming. Law enforcement recovered a cellphone during his arrest that contained records of drug-related communications from the beginning of January 2024 until his capture. Upon executing a search warrant at Meek’s apartment, they discovered an extensive arsenal of drugs and firearms: 2,202 grams of methamphetamine, 131 grams of fentanyl, 80 grams of cocaine, 698 grams of marijuana, and three firearms.
Meek was arrested on January 18, 2024, after a sting operation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Colorado Springs Police Department. His arrest followed an extensive investigation that ultimately tied him to drug trafficking operations in the area.
The prosecution of Meek was handled with precision by the Violent Crimes and Immigration Section at the United States Attorney’s Office. The case number is 24-cr-00082-RMR-1.
This conviction sends a clear message about the commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking and weapon possession in the community, ensuring that those who engage in such activities face severe consequences for their actions.
