Eleven defendants are facing charges for distributing methamphetamine throughout San Diego County, following a 16-month investigation by the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations. The probe targeted Asian Crips-affiliated drug dealers in Mira Mesa and other areas, using court-authorized wiretaps, undercover agents, and confidential sources. The coordinated takedown involved over 200 federal, state, and local law enforcement officials, who executed four search warrants and arrested seven defendants in Escondido, National City, Ramona, and San Diego.
The investigation has resulted in the seizure of over 11 pounds of methamphetamine and two firearms. According to U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon, the defendants turned neighborhoods into a marketplace for drugs and crime, but the dismantling of this network will help give the community back its streets and peace of mind.
Law enforcement officials praised the success of the joint operation, citing the dedication and collaboration of all partners involved. The FBI, HSI, and other agencies worked together to disrupt gang-associated drug trafficking and protect communities. The operation is part of a larger effort to stop the flow of drugs into neighborhoods and ensure public safety.
The defendants were arrested over several days, with four being taken into custody on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The charges are the result of a thorough investigation, and the authorities are committed to prioritizing public safety and holding those responsible for drug trafficking accountable.
