Linez Green, a 32-year-old from Thibodaux, Louisiana, was sentenced to 66 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring that operated in the Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish region. Green pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, as well as distribution of methamphetamine and illegal use of communications facilities. The conspiracy, which involved obtaining narcotics from Houston, Texas, and transporting them to Thibodaux, was carried out through wire and electronic communications.
The case was part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating transnational criminal organizations and protecting communities from violent crime. Green used his cell phone to further the conspiracy, distributing methamphetamine to numerous customers in Thibodaux.
The sentencing, which included 4 years of supervised release and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee, was handed down by U.S. District Judge Brandon Long on March 17, 2026. Green’s guilty plea and subsequent sentencing mark a significant blow to methamphetamine distribution in the region.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other law enforcement agencies, which worked together to disrupt and dismantle the methamphetamine distribution network. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and protect communities from the harm caused by these crimes.
