Mexican National Francisco Rios-Munoz Sentenced for Illegal Reentry

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Francisco Rios-Munoz, a Mexican national with three prior deportations to his name, was sentenced to two years in federal prison for illegal reentry into the United States. The sentence came after Rios-Munoz was caught once again, this time in Rankin County, Mississippi.

Rios-Munoz’s latest transgression occurred on February 2, 2025, when he was arrested by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department for aggravated assault. It wasn’t long before the true gravity of his offense came to light: a federal grand jury indicted him on April 22, 2025, and he pleaded guilty to illegal reentry after removal of an alien on June 6, 2025.

The acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi and Eric P. DeLaune, Special Agent-in-Charge for Homeland Security Investigations in New Orleans, Louisiana, made the announcement of Rios-Munoz’s sentence. This case was investigated by both the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Amber S. Jones handled the prosecution, ensuring justice was served for the repeated breach of our nation’s immigration laws. The Mississippi Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) played a crucial role in this investigation, as part of Operation Take Back America. Established by President Trump, this initiative is a joint operation led by the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security, aimed at eliminating transnational criminal organizations and protecting American communities from violent crime.

Rios-Munoz’s sentence sends a clear message that illegal reentry after deportation will not be tolerated. The grimy streets of Rankin County and beyond now have one less criminal to worry about, but the fight against illegal immigration continues.
