SCRANTON, Pennsylvania – In a bold and brazen move, Michael Muse, a 43-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, allegedly committed an armed robbery at the ESSA Bank in Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, on September 16, 2021.
According to Acting United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Muse was indicted for the crime on October 19, 2021. The indictment alleges that Muse committed an armed robbery at the bank, putting the lives of innocent civilians at risk.
The investigation into Muse’s crime was conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara is prosecuting the case.
The charge against Muse resulted from the efforts of the Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, who worked tirelessly to bring the perpetrator to justice. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer.
