On June 2, 2016, Michael Smith, a 32-year-old Baltimore resident, was charged with violent crimes in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. According to court documents, Smith was accused of participating in a violent gang and engaging in several violent crimes, including assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
