A Michigan man has been arrested in connection with a $5 million pandemic fraud scheme. Jeffrey C. Brodie, a 53-year-old resident of Michigan, was taken into custody on March 23, 2023 by federal authorities.
According to a press release from the Google Fraud News, Brodie was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering in connection with a scheme to defraud the government of millions of dollars in COVID-19 relief funds.
The scheme allegedly involved the submission of false claims for pandemic relief funds, which were then laundered through a series of shell companies and bank accounts.
