Midland’s Drug Lord Convicted: Robert Aiken, 53, and Christopher Everett Snyder, 28, have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in the tragic death of 19-year-old Haley Kemp.
The duo was convicted of distributing methamphetamine and heroin, which led to Kemp’s fatal overdose. Both men faced justice today, with Aiken receiving a sentence of 20 years and Snyder 12 years, announced Acting United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr., DEA Special Agent in Charge Will Glaspy, Midland Police Chief Price Robinson, and Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter.
Aiken and Snyder’s sinister plot unfolded at Aiken’s residence on May 30, 2014. They admitted to providing the deadly substances to Kemp and Snyder. Kemp was found dead from an overdose early the next morning, with both men attempting a botched revival attempt before discarding her body in a remote part of Midland County.
This grim chapter was brought to light by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Midland Police Department, and Midland County Sheriff’s Office, led by Assistant United States Attorneys John Klassen and Brandi Young.
Additionally, Judge Robert A. Junell ordered that both Aiken and Snyder be placed on supervised release for three years following their prison terms. The grim tale of Kemp’s death serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by drug trafficking in Midland and beyond.
