Multiple Arrests Made in Multi-State Drug Ring
Columbia, South Carolina – A multi-state drug trafficking ring that spanned across South Carolina, North Carolina, and California has been dismantled after federal agents made multiple arrests. The operation, which involved a collaborative effort between local, state, and federal law enforcement, resulted in the indictment of 14 individuals.
The defendants, who face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of $20,000,000, have been charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and distribution of crack cocaine, cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, and marijuana, as well as conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Those arrested in the Rock Hill and Charlotte areas include Darry Hemphill, also known as “D”, “D-Hemp”, age 30; Mikie Marcell Caldwell, also known as “Big Mike”, age 36; Gabriel L’Ambiance Ingram, also known as “Big Shot”, “Big Shot Rock”, “Rock”, age 29; Archie Arsenio Caldwell, also known as “Nuk”, “Nuk Crook”, age 29; Dontavis Devar Jordan, also known as “Rock”, age 30; Darrell Larod Crockett, also known as “Unc”, “Croc”, age 46; Patricia Ann Hemphill, age 47; Drece Larod McMullen, also known as “Cup”, age 45; Carl Michael Mann, II, also known as “Pike”, age 35; Herbert Reginald Demario Dewese, also known as “50”, “Big 50”, age 28; Cravelyn Squilla Davis, also known as “Sack”, “Sack Gabanna”, age 25; Odarrius Breonte Adams, also known as “Breezy”, age 34; Seqvoya Anginette Neely, age 39; and Rondal Rollin, age 59.
While most of the defendants were arrested in the Rock Hill and Charlotte areas, three of the defendants were arrested elsewhere. Cravelyn Squilla Davis was arrested in Columbia, South Carolina, Odarrius Breonte Adams was arrested in Georgia, and Rondal Rollin was arrested in California.
Defendants Dontavis Devar Jordan, Carl Michael Mann, II, and Herbert Reginald Demario Dewese remain at large. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these defendants to come forward.
U.S. Attorney Sherri A. Lydon praised the law enforcement partnerships involved in the operation, stating, “Local, state, and federal law enforcement officers from several agencies across multiple states worked in lockstep today to not only secure arrests in this long-term investigation but to also continue their daily collective mission to secure our communities.”
The United States Attorney noted that all charges in this indictment are merely accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Internal Revenue Service, United States Marshals’ Service, York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit, City of Rock Hill Police Department, the Charlotte, North Carolina Police Department, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina, United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, and the York County Solicitor’s Office.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William K. Witherspoon of the Columbia office.
