Nathaniel Dewayne Meashintubby, Felony Assault, Oklahoma 2024

McAlester, Oklahoma – In a disturbing turn of events, Nathaniel Dewayne Meashintubby, a 41-year-old McAlester resident, has pleaded guilty to felony assault charges.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Meashintubby suffocated or attempted to suffocate an intimate or dating partner on March 10, 2024.

The crime occurred in Pittsburg County, within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael E. Robinson represented the United States in the case.

Meashintubby will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing.

The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

Nathaniel Dewayne Meashintubby, the 41-year-old defendant, faces charges of felony assault, suffocating or attempting to suffocate an intimate or dating partner.

Meashintubby’s sentencing is pending, and he remains in the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
