Nathaniel Mosley, 44, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, walked away with nothing but a lengthy prison sentence after pleading guilty to armed robbery and use of a firearm during a crime of violence in June 2014. Mosley was sentenced to 168 months’ imprisonment, a $1,200 fine and three years of supervised release by United States District Court Judge Sylvia H. Rambo on December 3, 2014.
According to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith, on December 3, 2013, Mosley, along with co-defendants Torey Dobbin and George Stoney, robbed the Cracker Barrel restaurant on Brindle Road in Harrisburg at gunpoint. A caller alerted the Susquehanna Township Police Department after spotting the three masked men inside the building. Officers arrived almost immediately and set up a perimeter around the building. Shortly thereafter, the trio exited the restaurant and fled on foot. A brief pursuit ensued, and all three were apprehended.
Officers located the stolen money and seized three firearms. The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Capital City Safe Streets Task Force and the Susquehanna Township Police Department collaborated on the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Daryl F. Bloom prosecuted the case.
Mosley’s co-defendants, Torey Dobbin and George Stoney, have also pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing. The Cracker Barrel restaurant robbery was a brazen act of violence that could have ended in tragedy. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured during the incident.
The 168-month prison sentence handed down to Mosley is a testament to the severity of the crime. The sentence also serves as a warning to would-be robbers that such acts of violence will not be tolerated in our community.
Mosley’s case serves as a reminder that armed robbery is a serious crime with severe consequences. We hope that this case will serve as a deterrent to others who would consider engaging in similar behavior.
