Navy Sailor Pleads Guilty to Wife’s Murder-For-Hire Plot

NORFOLK, Va. – In a chilling turn of events, Chadwick Stanley Ghesquiere, 38, from Virginia Beach, has pleaded guilty to charges related to his involvement in a sinister murder-for-hire plot against his wife.

According to the statement of facts filed with the plea agreement, Ghesquiere hired an undercover federal special agent in August 2016 to take the life of his estranged spouse. The Navy sailor offered $1,000 in cash, 80 Adderall pills, and a firearm to facilitate the murder. In addition, Ghesquiere promised to pay the undercover $50,000 from his $100,000 life insurance policy.

After his arrest, Ghesquiere attempted to evade investigation by using a pre-paid burner phone to arrange meetings with the undercover agent. He also confessed to receiving Adderall from the military and distributing the pills to someone in his neighborhood.

Scheduled for sentencing on January 23, 2017, Ghesquiere faces a maximum statutory penalty of 14 years in prison. The sentence will be determined by the Court based on advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
