A Clinton, Pennsylvania, man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a child pornography case. Nicholas James Gaworski, 26, was found guilty of Receipt of Material Depicting the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

PITTSBURGH – In a federal court, United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab handed down the 15-year sentence to Gaworski, which will be served consecutively to any state sentence. Following his prison time, Gaworski will be required to serve 20 years of Supervised Release.

The charges against Gaworski stem from an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Allegheny County Police Department. In December 2016, Gaworski received videos and images containing material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors.

Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar prosecuted this case on behalf of the government, with the support of U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady. Brady commended the investigative agencies for their efforts in bringing Gaworski to justice.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. This program marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children.
