A Clarks Summit man has pleaded guilty to threatening the President of the United States.
Nicholas Savino, 42, admitted to sending a threat on August 16, 2013, that read: ‘President Obama the Anti-Christ. As a result of breaking the constitution you will stand down or be shot dead.’
The threat was posted on the White House website, prompting an investigation by the United States Secret Service and Clarks Summit Police.
Savino was indicted by a federal grand jury in September 2013 and has been detained in prison pending sentencing.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, Savino will forfeit to the United States three firearms and approximately 11,000 rounds of ammunition seized by agents from his apartment and vehicle during the investigation.
At sentencing, scheduled for June 11, 2014, Savino faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa.
