Nochise Martinez, Voluntary Manslaughter, New Mexico 2017

A brutal fight turned deadly on Dec. 31, 2016, when a Ramah man stabbed a fellow Navajo to death, leaving a family in mourning and a community shaken. Nochise Martinez, 23, was arrested on Jan. 4, 2017, and charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Martinez, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, appeared in federal court in Albuquerque, New Mexico, today, where he pled guilty to a felony information charging him with voluntary manslaughter.
